The beers
Beer is a refined, artisanal drink that has been produced since 4000 BC. This drink has been as important in history as wine. Although its exact origin is still unknown, it is believed that the name “beer” comes from Roman mythology and was given in honor of the goddess Ceres, goddess of agriculture and fertility.
In Mesopotamian culture, different types of beer were made from barley grains combined with water and different wild yeasts.
On the other hand, the Egyptians also made their own liquor from barley and honey, which they called "zytum." There is data showing that many people who worked on the construction of the pyramids received part of their salary in beer, receiving between 4 and 6 liters of beer a day in exchange for their work.
In the ancient Sumerian civilization it was believed that beer was a gift from the gods, they even had a goddess representative of this drink, her name was "Ninkasi", it is said that she was known as the goddess that satisfies the heart.
