The chess of love
Before I tell you one of the most symbolic stories we have seen, I want you to think about that person with whom you would be willing to play, I know you are thinking about someone; let me tell you that it is called love...
Please pay attention to the small details of the story, I know you will love it:
A man was browsing in an antique shop one day when he saw an old, dusty box that caught his attention.
He took the box and blew away the dust that covered it. He could see that it was a chess box with pieces carved in ivory. The game was very old, but what intrigued him most was that the box said "Chess of Love." Excited, this man took the box to the shop assistant, who explained to him that the game had belonged to a prince who always won the game, but that the day he lost he had abandoned it.
The man felt a strange sensation when he thought about the owner of the chess set, following the natural instinct of the human being and to not be left with any doubt he decided to buy it.
Upon arriving home, the man took his recent acquisition out of the bag and took the pieces out of the box. He arranged them on the board, but once they were in place, he could not move them. It seemed as if they refused to leave the square they occupied. The man tried to remove the pieces from the board, but they remained unfazed by the external force that threatened to move them.
Worried and incredulous, the man returned to the antique shop to inform the manager of the problem he had with the chess set. The clerk smiled calmly to himself and then explained to his customer:
- Look, in order to play this game of chess you need to find someone to love, only then will you be able to make your pieces move . The game consists of overcoming all obstacles so that you can live with an intense love. The problems that are represented by your opponent's pieces will move after your pieces make a move.
- Fine, but then how will my pieces move? the man asked.
- Ah, it's very simple. -answered the manager- What you do for that person you love represents the movement of each of your pieces. You know well that the movement of a pawn in traditional chess is simple and seems harmless, but it is not so, neither in that nor in this game:
A move of one of your pawns represents the simplest action you can do for the person you love. It can be a word, an "I love you," a look, a smile, or a detail. These simple things can mean victory or defeat in the game.
While the movement of an opposing pawn symbolizes the small details that put the relationship at risk, such as wanting to be by that person's side all the time and limiting their mobility, small grudges and misunderstandings, among many others.
Your horse is the means by which you show your affection. This is where present actions and decisions come in.
The movement of one of your bishops is the way in which you express your feelings, while enemy knights and bishops are the negative ways in which we express our feelings, which can fail in love, such as: distance, distrust and jealousy.
The clerk paused for a moment, silence reigned, and the man pondered what he had heard.
-He continued saying... - Your towers are the defense of love, the wall that protects love and makes the relationship solid, and just as they can be strong and castle the king, they are also fragile because they are nothing more or less than your disposition to preserve love. The enemy towers are the biggest obstacles that you must overcome to achieve great love, such as: social, political, cultural, individual or economic differences.
Your queen is the quality and the reason why we love that person, the greatest reason to fight for love. An old man said " I love you, because I want to love you ." And that is the element capable of overcoming all obstacles, in order to preserve love, that is, the will.
The opposite queen is the greatest danger that threatens love, the greatest fear, it can be time, routine, monotony, or even another person.
Your king is the most vulnerable part of your love, because even the smallest detail is enough to destroy any love that may exist.
If you lose pieces, your love will fall ill and you will be more likely to lose, but if on the contrary, you capture pieces, your love will grow stronger and you will get closer to victory, without forgetting for a single moment that the slightest carelessness, or a brilliant move can completely change the course of the game, so you need to be very attentive at all times.
Although undoubtedly a check against is the threat of the end of love, and a check in favor is the triumph over adversity. Thus, by making a checkmate in favor, you will then be ready to start another game, within the choice you have made for love.
As you will see - the clerk concluded to the man - the game of love is very, very similar to chess, because you must always know which pieces to move, which pieces to put at risk and, above all, which pieces you must defend above all else.
-To whom it may concern
Now that you know the story, tell me, are you willing to play?... Life is beautiful when you are with the right person, always try to be better and never forget that the small details will make the difference.
